Health Screenings
Know your numbers — without waiting weeks for an appointment.
Some of the most important things about your health can’t be felt. High blood pressure, rising blood sugar, and creeping cholesterol usually cause no symptoms at all until they’ve already done damage. Our screenings take a few minutes, happen right here in the pharmacy, and give you real numbers you and your provider can act on. If something looks off, our pharmacists will walk you through what it means and what to do next.
Our Screenings
What we screen for
Blood Pressure
High blood pressure often goes years without a single symptom, and it’s a leading contributor to heart attack and stroke. A quick reading here lets you track your numbers between provider visits — especially useful if you’ve recently started or changed a blood pressure medication.
Blood Glucose
A fast finger-stick check of your blood sugar at a moment in time. Useful if diabetes runs in your family, if you’re managing prediabetes, or if you’ve noticed symptoms like unusual thirst or fatigue.
A1C
Where a glucose test is a snapshot, an A1C shows your average blood sugar over the past two to three months. It’s the better measure of how well a diabetes management plan is actually working day to day.
Cholesterol & Lipid Panel
Body Composition — InBody 770
We use the InBody 770, which uses Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis to break down your muscle mass, body fat, and total body water. It’s far more useful than a bathroom scale for tracking real progress, whether you’re building strength, managing weight, or recovering from an injury.
Cognitive Screening — Cognivue®
A five-to-ten minute, self-administered assessment using Cognivue®’s FDA-cleared technology. The test adapts to your own visual and motor abilities, then gives you a clear, personalized picture of your cognitive health — helpful as a baseline and for tracking changes over time.
Why HCP
Why screen at HCP
No appointment maze.
Walk in during pharmacy hours and ask. Most screenings take just a few minutes.
A pharmacist who actually knows you.
We’ve been part of the Bitterroot Valley since 2011. If your results raise a question, you’re talking to someone who already knows your medication list.
Results you can use.
We’ll explain what your numbers mean, flag anything worth showing your provider, and help you track them over time.
Who It's For
Who should get screened
Screenings are worth considering if you:
Have a family history of diabetes, heart disease, or high blood pressure
Are managing a chronic condition and want to track progress between provider visits
Recently started a new medication that affects blood pressure, blood sugar, or cholesterol
Are over 45, or over 20 and haven’t had cholesterol checked in the last four to six years
Simply want a baseline to measure against later
Health screenings are not a substitute for diagnosis or care from your physician. Our screenings are meant to help you identify concerns early and start a conversation with your provider.
